Position Summary:
The Precision Finishing Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of machined components by eliminating sharp edges and achieving uniform finishes. Utilizing various tools such as sanders and grinders, this position ensures adherence to deburring standards while maintaining productivity and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute deburring tasks on a diverse range of components, ensuring operations align with quality standards and production goals.
- Determine appropriate deburring methods and tools, producing parts that meet specified finish requirements.
- Employ a variety of deburring equipment and hand tools to guarantee that all produced components exceed quality expectations.
- Identify and rectify sources of issues to maintain operational efficiency.
- Interpret engineering drawings and finish specifications accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, ensuring a safe environment.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes.
- Complete all necessary documentation and data collection accurately.
- Adhere to the Quality Management System standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend technical documents; proficiency in using computers and interpreting blueprints.
- Physically capable of performing routine and demanding tasks with full mobility.
Preferred:
- 1-3 years of experience in grinding within a precision manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with deburring and finishing tools, as well as precision measuring instruments, is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
- Majority of time spent standing, walking, or moving within the work area.
- Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use hands for handling and manipulating tools.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
Communication Skills:
- Fluency in English is essential for effective communication.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills are necessary for interaction with colleagues and management.
Vision Requirements:
- Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary for tasks involving computer screens and detailed documentation.
Working conditions are typical of a manufacturing environment, with potential for occasional weekend or evening shifts.
