Director of Security and Life Safety Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled Security and Life Safety Director to join our team at Harvard Protection Services.
This is a challenging role that requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. As a Security and Life Safety Director, you will be responsible for providing professional security and life safety services to our clients.
About the Role- Maintain a visible presence in the facility/building assigned, promoting a safe and secure environment for staff, customers, and visitors.
- Monitor the environment, detecting suspicious and unsafe activity, and responding promptly to emergencies.
- Liaise with site representatives to discuss violations and unsafe conditions, ensuring compliance with fire and safety standards.
- Test and inspect fire extinguishers and other fire protection devices, maintaining accurate records and logs as required by law.
- Prepare detailed reports on inspections performed, standards violations, and recommendations for eliminating fire hazards.
- Lead staff and provide customer-focused security and life safety services, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure familiarity with incoming and outgoing traffic, recognizing customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
- Answer phones professionally, making clear and audible announcements, and permitting authorized persons to enter property.
- Enforce facility/building policies and procedures, following established emergency action planning, procedures, fire protection, and safety standards.
- Monitor alarms and systems, performing operations-related functions, including scheduling, overtime management, and reviewing daily logs and incident reports.
- State or municipality mandated security officer licenses.
- Minimum High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, with a Fire Safety Directors license.
- Knowledge of fire inspection operations and procedures, with reliable means of communication and transportation.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, with experience in contract security, law enforcement, fire department, military, or customer service preferred.
