**Responsibilities**

  1. Taking patient history and obtaining vital signs
  2. Performing basic testing or screenings, such as vision, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, and pulmonary function testing
  3. Necessary phlebotomy for collection of laboratory samples
  4. Accurately completing corresponding paperwork/computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue, and culture samples
  5. Point of care testing, such as strep, mono, glucose, influenza, urine pregnancy, urinalysis, and blood glucose levels
  6. Ensuring sterile technique, instrument cleaning and sterilization, proper use of the autoclave
  7. Scheduling and coordinating necessary records for ancillary care for patients
  8. Assisting providers with exams and testing, including pelvic exams, eye irrigations, and ear irrigations, I & D's, and splinting/ortho-glass preparation
  9. Maintaining confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA)
  10. Ensuring equipment is in working order
  11. Logging laboratory procedures when completed, processing related paperwork using computer equipment as directed
  12. Maintaining examination rooms and stocking necessary medical supplies
  13. Performing duties to ensure good patient flow
  14. Registration duties, explaining insurance options and collecting payments
  15. Accompanying the provider to the bedside
  16. Accurately and thoroughly documenting patient medical history, physical exam, and procedures
  17. Completing transcription as requested
  18. Performing tasks to improve provider efficiency during the course of a shift
  19. Greeting and registering patients
  20. Answering and triaging phone calls
  21. Taking payments for visits
  22. Printing, scanning, and faxing reports
  23. Other front desk and cleaning responsibilities as assigned

**Requirements**

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Ability to identify equipment problems and correct or notify team leader
  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families
  • Able to withstand physical and mental demands, including standing, walking, stooping, and bending, and transferring patients
  • Computer knowledge and skills, including registering patients on the computer in a timely manner
  • Up-to-date on injections and provide documentation, as per OSHA guidelines
  • Ability to complete and maintain CPR certification
  • Excellent listening and note-taking skills
  • Basic computer skills, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Demonstrated ability to type at least 45 words per minute
  • Strong communication skills, including grammatical, spelling, and verbal
  • Detail-oriented with proven ability to work effectively under conditions requiring accuracy
  • Capable of working well on a team
  • Friendly and customer service oriented
  • Ability to manage high call volume
