Master Painter

Maintain the physical assets of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation by performing painting and coating work. Provide support to all Foundation operations in a timely and cost-effective manner.

• Produce high-quality work according to trade standards.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by removing defects and applying putty.
• Work with various painting equipment, including brushes, sprayers, and rollers.
• Apply paints, varnishes, and other coatings to prepared surfaces.
• Replace and glaze window panes.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Identify and address safety hazards.
• Provide on-the-job training and mentorship.

• 5+ years of experience as a first-class painter.
• Proficiency in brush, roller, and spray equipment.
• In-depth knowledge of paints, varnishes, and finishes.
• Knowledge of OSHA and trade-related safety regulations.
• Ability to wear N100 respirators.
• Detail-oriented and able to multitask.
• Physically qualified to lift and carry 75 pounds.
• Ability to distinguish colors.
• Pass a post-offer pulmonary function test.
