Firmware Engineer IV Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop firmware for embedded controls systems used in new product development, feature enhancements, and existing product support.
  • Collaborate with internal product development departments and engineering teams to specify interfaces and algorithms for controls.
  • Utilize simulation tools, create PC-based testing tools, and troubleshoot designs to the component level.
  • Participate in design reviews, optimize complex specifications for integration, and conduct site visits as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a directly related field.
  • 7 years of experience with embedded programming using languages such as C, C++, and C#.
Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, use hands to manipulate objects or controls, stand, and walk. Occasional stooping, bending, or reaching above the shoulders may be required. The employee must occasionally lift up to a certain weight.

Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel is required.
