Under the guidance of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse, the Patient Care Associate plays a vital role in delivering individualized care to patients, aiming to achieve their highest level of wellness.
Responsibilities- Assists in the provision of patient care, performing designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks.
- Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve group goals and provide excellent patient care.
- Participates in the training program for new hires, which includes a 175-hour training program that meets the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services requirements.
- High school diploma, G.E.D, CNA/CPTC, or enrollment in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum.
- No prior experience is required, as Mercy provides the required training program.
- BLS certification is required within one month of hire, and completion of PCA competencies within three months of hire.
