Job Title: Supplemental Instructor - Truck Driving Trainer

Amarillo College is seeking a highly qualified Supplemental Instructor - Truck Driving Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for providing exceptional instruction and training to students in the field of truck driving.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide supplemental classroom instruction for applicable programs.
  • Develop and present organized instructions and learning opportunities for students in accordance with approved course outlines.
  • Train students in the basic operations of a commercial vehicle, including various combinations such as tankers, double/triple trailers, flatbeds, dry vans, and reefers.
  • Attend briefings on procedures, advising, registration, and general policy.
  • Complete administrative paperwork and performance evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Ensure effective two-way communication at all levels of responsibility.
  • Participate in department, division, and college meetings as assigned or required.
  • Assume responsibility for the orderliness of the learning environment and the safe use of instructional facilities and equipment.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three years of verifiable truck operations experience.
  • Valid Class A commercial driver license.
  • Three-year safe driving record.
  • N, S, T endorsements (preferred).
Working Conditions:

This role may operate in a classroom, online, or tech-supported setting. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and be able to move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
