Position Overview:
The Hospitality Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the accommodation services of the hotel, ensuring that the financial objectives set by ownership are met. This role encompasses the daily administration of hotel operations and personnel.

The manager is accountable for budget oversight and financial planning, as well as organizing and directing all hotel services, which include front desk operations, reservations, and housekeeping.

While maintaining a strategic perspective to enhance profitability, the manager must also focus on the finer details, exemplifying the standards of service and presentation that fulfill guests' expectations.

Both business acumen and personnel management are critical components of this role. The Hospitality Operations Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold a positive demeanor at all times, supporting the directives of Senior Management.
  • Mentor, assess, and develop team members to enhance performance.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews for subordinates, providing guidance and resources to meet objectives.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all sensitive information.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise front desk personnel, housekeeping staff, and other hotel roles.
  • Maintain high standards of service and cleanliness in guest accommodations.
  • Establish and uphold guest service benchmarks.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and implement programs to boost team performance.
  • Update hotel systems and procedures to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and manage hotel room pricing strategies.
  • Generate monthly reports on hotel performance metrics.
  • Review room rates seasonally to remain competitive.
  • Regularly evaluate department supervisors.
  • Provide recommendations for capital improvements and routine maintenance.
  • Organize promotional files for business solicitation.
  • Collaborate with department heads to strategize business acquisition plans.
  • Oversee departmental budget processes.
  • Manage the development and execution of sales initiatives.
  • This is a salaried position requiring a minimum of 45-50 hours of work per week, with all time off subject to approval by the Director of Operations.
  • Responsible for overseeing vending machine operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven experience in managing hotel operations, including personnel and performance.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is advantageous.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • High energy levels and a proactive approach to team relations.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively, communicating effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Employ diplomacy and tact to foster constructive relationships, even in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to garner support for initiatives from various stakeholders.
  • Efficient time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Competence in handling both simple and complex concepts.
  • Ability to adjust staffing levels daily to optimize productivity while ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Skill in identifying situations that require escalation or approval.
Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma with some college education preferred.
  • Strong background in Executive Administration is essential.
  • Experience in the casino industry is a plus.
