As a vital member of our Plasma Donation Center, you will engage with donors daily, ensuring their safety and comfort while collecting high-quality plasma that contributes to life-saving therapies. Your role will involve collaborating closely with the Plasma Center Manager and functioning as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess donor eligibility through comprehensive medical history interviews, informed consent management, and physical examinations.
- Monitor donor reactions during the donation process, adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medical emergencies.
- Provide essential support in managing donor adverse events and communicate any unsuitable test results to donors with professionalism.
- Facilitate vaccination programs for employees, including Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu, as necessary.
- Handle employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health services when further evaluation is warranted.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when designated, supporting investigations related to community health threats.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, including completion of a recognized nursing program that meets state requirements.
- Current licensure as an LPN or LVN in the state of practice.
- Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
