Job Summary:

The Oyster Shucker at Lib's Grill is a part-time position that requires a high level of skill and attention to detail. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for shucking oysters and clams, preparing food for service, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oyster Shucking and Preparation: Shuck oysters and clams cleanly and quickly, prioritizing the quality of the product.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare food for service, including prepping sauces, inventorying oysters, and updating the oyster board list.
  • Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and sanitary work station, adhering to nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Inventory Management: Stock inventory appropriately and run oysters to guest tables when necessary to ensure ticket time standards.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work effectively with servers, bartenders, and other kitchen staff to ensure a successful shift.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Some shucking experience is preferred, but not required. Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is valuable.
  • Availability: Must have weekend availability and be able to work on their feet for several hours at a time.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry 10-55 lbs. and have reliable means of transportation.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English and have a teamwork mentality.
