Job Overview

Compensation: $20.00 Per Hour

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports, the B Team Head Coach for the Women's Club Volleyball Team will oversee the organization and management of the Women's Volleyball club team. This role emphasizes the development of practice strategies and team growth initiatives, conducting team drills, and enhancing overall team performance.

The B Team Head Coach is tasked with upholding the regulations, policies, and procedures outlined in the Sport Club Handbook, alongside all responsibilities associated with coaching a collegiate club program. The ideal candidate will be expected to adhere to and promote all policies established by the organization while serving as a positive influence within the program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Duties

  • Adheres to all expectations as outlined in the Sport Club Coaching Agreement.
  • Supervises team practices, training sessions, competitions, and travel logistics.
  • Ensures compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Prioritizes the safety of all team members and equipment at all times.
  • Assists team members in reaching recruitment objectives.
  • Designs and implements training schedules for practices.
  • Ensures practices start and end punctually.
  • Supports team members in achieving fundraising targets.
  • Collaborates with coaches from other programs to arrange scrimmages and competitions.
  • Facilitates travel arrangements for the team.
  • Oversees equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Works in partnership with team officers and administrators to establish program goals.
  • Maintains a positive community image for the team.
  • Engages with alumni to foster support for the team.
  • Represents the team in regional or national meetings with other coaches.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Customer Service and Collaboration

  • Builds and maintains relationships with various departments.
  • Represents the team and organization professionally at all times.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with all athletes and staff.

Safety Protocols

  • Ensures all operations prioritize the safety of staff and participants.
  • Complies with the organization's Code of Safe Practices.
  • Reports incidents to supervisors and implements changes to prevent recurrence.
  • Addresses maintenance issues and unsafe equipment promptly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum & Preferred Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Proficient knowledge of organizational programs and policies required.
  • Familiarity with relevant software and applications required.
  • Experience with organizational programs preferred.

License & Certification:

  • First Aid and CPR/AED certifications required.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required.

Training:

  • Must complete required training within 30 days of hire.
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings and training sessions as directed.

SCHEDULE & WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a part-time position with flexibility to work up to 25 hours per week, varying according to team needs throughout the academic year.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment may include both indoor and outdoor settings, exposing the employee to various elements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical requirements include walking, bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.

RELATIONSHIPS

Inside the Organization:

  • Engages with related university personnel and other organizations.

EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Part-time: $20.00 per hour.
