Job Overview

As a Part-time Intermediate Care Facility Medical Director with the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing medical care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to plan, coordinate, and direct the delivery of essential medical services while collaborating closely with our program nurses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure personalized and attentive care for each individual
  • Complete physical examination reports and recertify Medicaid for ICF placement on an annual basis
  • Respond effectively to urgent medical issues 24/7 to maintain the highest standards of care
Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a strong skill set tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited school of medicine is required, along with ABMS certification or eligibility in a primary care specialty. A current unrestricted license to practice medicine in Virginia and DEA registration are also necessary.
