Job Overview

Position Summary

As a Regional Quality Assurance Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to conduct process capability assessments and gain a comprehensive understanding of the products, processes, and quality assurance measures across various re-manufacturing facilities. You will operate from a designated site while frequently traveling to additional locations to provide support. Your role will be crucial in minimizing return rates and ensuring both product and process compliance, collaborating effectively with multiple departments to maintain alignment and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and advocate for root cause analysis on major quality concerns identified by the organization, utilizing methodologies such as fishbone diagrams, the 5 Whys technique, and Pareto analysis.
  • Evaluate data from experimental trials to confirm that product and process standards are either upheld or enhanced following any modifications.
  • Formulate strategies and oversee trials for 3M changes (involving raw materials, methods, or machinery) through the CQV process, ensuring that these adjustments do not compromise process capability.
  • Create process flow diagrams, PFMEA, and control plans for all manufacturing processes.
  • Establish control charts for processes identified as critical to product performance.
  • Mitigate risks and ensure adherence to product and process standards.
  • Guide, instruct, and develop protocols for trials aimed at reducing risks and ensuring product compliance with internal specifications.
  • Provide dependable insights and expertise regarding industry standards, quality assessments, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work primarily from one location while traveling 50%-70% of the time to the other sites, focusing on standardizing operations across locations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven ability to mentor, train, and inspire team members.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Engineering is preferred; ASQ certifications are a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in problem-solving, process mapping, PFMEA, control plans, measurement system analysis, and SPC is essential.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing, process documentation, and waste reduction is beneficial.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in quality assurance roles.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Experience in production, manufacturing, or remanufacturing is highly desirable.
  • The ideal candidate will have a background in developing and implementing organizational standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be capable of working in environments with varying noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature fluctuations, and able to access all areas of the facility without restrictions.
