As a Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, you will be responsible for producing high-quality two-dimensional cardiac ultrasonic recordings to evaluate the anatomy and hemodynamics of the heart and its related blood vessels. You will work closely with physicians to diagnose and study malfunctioning organs, performing ultrasound procedures, stress echo's, bubble studies, and contrast echo's. Your expertise will ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient test results, adhering to department protocols and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients and perform ultrasound tests based on physicians' orders and department protocols.
- Deliver patient care for all age groups while performing ultrasound exams/procedures and/or special procedures.
- Review and compile clinical data in accordance with departmental deadlines for physician interpretation of echo records.
- Perform incidental general office duties, including answering phone, scheduling, filing, maintaining patient records, and ordering supplies.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound/echo sonography program.
- One year of post-graduate experience in cardiac ultrasound and/or demonstrated high degree of proficiency, knowledge, and acuity in the field of diagnostics or ultrasound.
- Current registration by ARDMS or current certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
- Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
