Position Overview

Apogee Solutions, a recognized Woman-Owned Small Business, is currently looking for multiple Field Registered Nurses (RN) to provide essential support to the United States Department of Labor (DOL). Candidates must be U.S. Citizens.

Role Responsibilities

The selected Field Registered Nurses will play a crucial role in assisting the DOL Office of Workers Compensation (OWCP) and the Division of Federal Employees Compensation (DFEC). The responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating the medical management of disability claims.
  • Assisting injured workers in coordinating their medical care and facilitating their return to work.
  • Evaluating the current medical status and treatment plans of injured workers to ensure effective recovery strategies are in place.
  • Collaborating with healthcare providers to obtain and coordinate treatment plans and necessary medical care.
  • Working alongside employers to identify suitable light-duty work accommodations and address any barriers to returning to work.
  • Coordinating the transition of injured workers back to their workplace through on-site visits and follow-up monitoring.
  • Collaborating with Rehabilitation Counselors as needed.
  • Providing services through face-to-face meetings, telephone consultations, and electronic communications.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Associate degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • An active, unrestricted nursing license to practice in the United States.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of adult medical/surgical nursing experience and three (3) years of case management experience in the workers compensation field.
  • Proficiency in computer operations, including basic word processing, data entry, and automated records management.
  • Preferred specialized certifications in areas such as Occupational Health (COHN), Case Management (CCM), Insurance Rehabilitation (CIRS/CCRN), Disability Management (CDMS), or Nurse Case Manager Board Certified (ANCC/ANA).
  • Recent experience with the DFEC nurse intervention program is highly desirable.
Technical Requirements

All applicants must have regular access to a computer equipped with:

  • A hard drive with at least 30GB of available storage.
  • A monitor with a resolution of 1280x1024 or higher.
  • An internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 1.5 Mbps and download speed of 1.2 Mbps.
  • A TWAIN-compatible scanner capable of scanning multi-page documents (up to 6 pages).
  • Windows Operating System 7 or later.
  • Adobe Reader version 9.0 or higher.
  • Current antivirus software or a subscription that updates automatically.
