Job Title: Lead Java Backend Developer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of engineers in constructing data pipelines utilizing technologies such as (Java / Python, Spark, ETL, Kafka, AWS Glue) on medium to large-scale datasets.
  • Proficient in distributed systems and microservices; capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Employ Java/ Python to develop software solutions.
  • Experience with AWS cloud platform services (ECS, ECR, EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, etc.) is essential.
  • Continuously enhance software engineering methodologies.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in software engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in software solution development using Java / Python, Spark, ETL, Kafka, AWS Glue cloud platform.
  • Develop the next generation of Distributed Streaming Data Pipelines and Analytics Data Stores using streaming frameworks (e.g., Spark Streaming, etc.) with programming languages like Java, Scala, Python.
  • Utilize both emerging and established technologies such as Java, J2EE, Design Patterns, TDD, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices, RESTful services, SQL/ Oracle / PostgreSQL/ MongoDB / Postgres databases and AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Experienced in employing code versioning tools such as Git or equivalent.
  • Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) is required.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems is necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience in a distributed, multi-disciplinary software development team within an Agile framework.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the complete suite of Go (GoLang) frameworks and tools is a plus.
  • Experience in the Banking / Finance sector is advantageous.

Location: Hybrid Role; Requires in-office presence three days a week.

Salary Range: The compensation for this role ranges from $85,000 to $145,000 annually. Various factors may influence pay within this range, including geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
