Audiologist Aide Job Description

Job Summary:

The Audiologist Aide will provide support to licensed Audiologists in performing tasks related to patient care, hearing aid repair, and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide follow-up care for patients, including scheduling appointments and communicating with patients regarding their hearing aid status.
  • Accept, inspect, and repair hearing aids as permitted under Audiology Aide licensure.
  • Teach patients about proper hearing aid cleaning and care.
  • Enter detailed chart notes into the electronic medical record system, describing all patient encounters.
  • Complete repair order forms and send all repairs to manufacturers.
  • Check new hearing aids and repaired hearing aids into the electronic medical record system as they arrive, and notify patients of their return.
  • Inventory supplies and order more as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must complete requirements of the Ohio Administrative Code chapter to be issued a license by the Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word required.
  • Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment.
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
  • Adheres to all HIPAA privacy and security regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Performs related work as required.

Working Conditions:

The Audiologist Aide will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, interacting with patients, Audiologists, and other healthcare professionals. The job holder must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds and have minimal walking.
