Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating a cash register, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Assist customers in purchasing items, respond to their questions, and provide a positive shopping experience.
  • Cash Handling: Operate a cash register, collect payments, count change, and prepare receipts.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning windows and mirrors, and restocking shelves.
  • Donation Processing: Assist customers in donating items, direct them to the proper loading/unloading area, and ensure that donations are properly processed.
  • Inventory Management: Rotate and rearrange stock as directed, and ensure that all items are properly displayed and priced.
  • Communication: Answer the store telephone, respond to customer inquiries, and provide directions and general information.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: Six months experience working in a retail store preferred
  • Skills: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, operate a cash register, and perform routine mathematical computations
