**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team at Paulding County Schools.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Maintain a safe and efficient transportation environment for students and staff.
  • Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections of school buses.
  • Operate a school bus along a designated route, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of students.
  • Maintain order and discipline among passengers on the bus and while waiting at bus stops.
  • Assist handicapped students with boarding, sitting, and leaving the bus safely.

**Requirements:**

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License and a Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to qualify for a Georgia CDL of appropriate class with Passenger, School Bus and Air Brake Endorsement.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a valid CPR/First Aid card.
  • Must be able to pass state required drug screening.
  • Must pass annual physical examination.

**Physical Demands:**

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
  • Reaching, pulling, and pushing to operate air brake.
  • Bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching to inspect buses.
  • Climbing steps.
  • Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, or horizontally.
  • Seeing to monitor passengers and operate a vehicle.
  • Lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Repetitive pushing with right leg to operate brake.
  • Ability to physically perform evacuation of the bus in the event of an emergency.
