Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). As a PACU Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients who have undergone surgical procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety during the recovery process.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the PACU, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assessing patient responses to treatments.
- Follow aseptic sterile technique according to AORN/ASPAN standards to prevent infection and promote patient safety.
- Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions, and make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage patient's pain and discomfort, using a variety of techniques and interventions to promote comfort and relaxation.
- Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology, and take proactive steps to address these needs.
- Contribute to Mission effectiveness by promoting the spirit embodied in the Mission Statement, including Service to the Poor, Reverence, Integrity, Wisdom, Creativity, and Dedication.
- Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with patient, family, and members of the healthcare team, ensuring a smooth transition to home or next level of care.
- Assess the physical and psychological status of patients, provide interventions/treatments, and evaluate effectiveness of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Evaluate learning needs of patient and family, and provide age-specific and culturally appropriate education to promote health and wellness.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Advanced Life Support (ALS) obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse (RN) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
