Job Title: Welding Inspector

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a skilled and experienced Welding Inspector to join our team in Clackamas, OR.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying the quality of fabricated steel products, performing visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Develop and implement procedures for accurate and thorough documentation of inspection results.
  • Collaborate with production management to address any issues affecting production, quality, or safety.
  • Perform dimensional inspections on steel pieces, inspect welding preparations and tack welds, and report any non-conformances.
  • Assist with on-site customer inspections and provide technical support as needed.
  • Interpret blueprints and use measurement tools to verify geometric tolerances of fabricated parts and assemblies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of defective products and present findings to production management.
  • Perform regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety program policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques and industry standards.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a steel fabrication company performing QC tasks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of welding, metallurgy, steel fabrication, and reading blueprints.
  • Ability to interpret codes, drawings, and specifications, maintain dimensional tolerances, and use measuring tools.
  • Qualified or able to obtain ASNT SNT-TC-1A qualification strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required (degree preferred).
