The Role

The Educational Therapist will be tasked with delivering social-emotional services to students requiring additional support to succeed academically. They will provide high-quality services as outlined by SESI and collaborate with educational staff and families to support students effectively. Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, and we are looking for an exceptional Therapist to play a crucial role in fostering student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate each new student and assess their occupational therapy needs
  • Oversee therapy programs and consult with educational personnel regarding the integration of suitable occupational therapy strategies into the educational framework.
  • Educate and demonstrate therapy techniques to teachers and parents for classroom and home incorporation.
  • Consult on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and provide necessary documentation of students' needs and supports.
  • Manage the handwriting and keyboarding curriculum and train staff and parents in applicable techniques.
  • Facilitate group therapy interventions for students in grades K-8.
  • Assess and evaluate students' needs for individual or small group occupational therapy sessions.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings for students receiving occupational therapy as required.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Professional licensure from the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a school, special education, or behavioral health environment working with children and adolescents is preferred.
