Hospitalist Role in Missouri
Located in West Plains, MO
- Seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hospitalist to enhance our healthcare team.
- IM or FM trained Hospitalist to collaborate with 9 other Hospitalists, forming a cohesive team of 10.
- Work schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off.
- Daytime coverage involves three hospitalists from 7 AM to 7 PM, with one nocturnist covering from 7 PM to 7 AM.
- Average patient load per physician is manageable.
- Typical admissions per 24 hours range from 10 to 15. ICU experience is essential as Hospitalists are responsible for ICU coverage, including ventilator management and central line placement.
- 12-bed OPEN ICU with support from anesthesiologists and surgeons for consults on complex cases.
- A pulmonologist is available for critical pulmonary patients requiring ventilation or those with chronic pulmonary conditions.
- Anesthesia services are accessible 24/7 if necessary. Respiratory therapy staff are skilled in intubation, with anesthesia as a backup.
- The Emergency Department manages codes, and Hospitalists are expected to respond promptly to take over patient care.
- The nocturnist does not round on patients but is available for nursing staff calls regarding patient concerns throughout the night and may need to evaluate deteriorating patients. The majority of the nocturnist's time is spent on admissions, which can vary from 3 to 10 per shift.
- We welcome J1 and H1B applicants, as we are H1B cap exempt. Our location offers no limits on J1 waivers and has no application deadline for waivers.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary aligned with MGMA median, with the option to work additional 12-hour shifts at a competitive rate.
- Sign-on bonus of $25,000.
- Relocation assistance up to $10,000.
- Up to $4,500 allocated for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and professional licensing fees, dues, and journals.
- Malpractice coverage provided at $2 million per occurrence and $6 million aggregate.
- Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and both short and long-term disability coverage.
- Affordable health insurance options, with a non-smoker employee rate.
Retirement Plans:
- 403B matching up to 3% after one year of service.
- 457 plan with a maximum contribution of $18,000 per year.
