Job Summary
Children's Hospital & Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality, family-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct individualized age-specific patient/family assessments to identify needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Coordinate professional nursing and individualized care to pregnant patients/families through the use of the nursing process and clinical skills.
- Develop and implement individualized patient/family plans of care using collaborative problems, nursing diagnoses, and practice guidelines/protocols.
- Implement and evaluate nursing actions in accordance with the individualized patient/family plan of care and patient condition/needs.
- Provide and/or coordinate with other disciplines patient/family education according to identified care needs.
- Document accurate assessment/evaluation, modification, and patient's response to therapy, changes in condition, and therapeutic interventions/procedures.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
- Experience with pediatric patients preferred.
- Previous experience with EPIC preferred.
- Current and valid Nebraska RN license/RN Compact license.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 180 Days.
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation (NICU only) within 180 Days.
- ACLS within 9 months of hire (Cath Lab only).
- ENPC - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification (ED only) within 1 Year.
- TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (ED only) within 1 Year.
