Utility Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Utility Worker to join our Dining Services team at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community, Inc. As a Utility Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service department.
Key Responsibilities- Perform various tasks as needed, including dishwashing, receiving and stocking supplies, transporting and delivering food, cleaning, and restocking trays and flatware.
- Work collaboratively with our team to maintain a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff.
- Assist with food preparation and presentation as needed.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in various areas of the food service department.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- One year of experience in an institutional food service environment preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to read, speak, and understand English.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to work additional hours, holidays, and weekends as scheduled.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including a starting base rate of pay between $13.10 and $17.03 per hour, as well as benefits such as dental insurance, vision insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, and more.
Work ScheduleThe work schedule for this position is 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with alternative hours possible on occasion. The position requires 80 hours per pay period, every two weeks.
