Role Summary:
As the **Recreation Therapy Program Supervisor**, you will be instrumental in enhancing the overall mental, emotional, and physical health of our patients. You will oversee a skilled team of recreation therapists, creating and executing innovative, patient-focused therapy programs that foster healing, social engagement, and personal development. Your leadership will ensure that our therapeutic initiatives are not only engaging but also effective and aligned with the broader treatment objectives of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Design & Oversight: Develop and manage comprehensive recreation therapy programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of patients with various psychiatric conditions.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Inspire and guide a team of recreation therapists, promoting a collaborative and positive workplace culture.
  • Patient-Focused Approach: Ensure that all therapeutic activities are centered around patient needs, encouraging active participation and promoting overall well-being.
  • Program Assessment: Conduct regular evaluations to assess the effectiveness of therapy programs, making necessary adjustments to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and nursing staff, to integrate recreational therapy into comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Compliance & Record Keeping: Ensure all programs adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices. Maintain thorough documentation of patient progress and program effectiveness.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the recreation therapy budget, equipment, and resources to ensure the efficient delivery of programs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related discipline.
  • Certification: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) is mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in recreation therapy, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity, preferably within a psychiatric or behavioral health context.

Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities. Capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework. A genuine passion for patient-centered care and innovation in therapeutic practices.
