Electrical Systems Specialist

The Electrical Systems Specialist will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems for Unit facilities. This includes developing repair and renovation of electrical projects, ensuring power to mission-critical facilities is maintained, and providing technical assistance and support in electrical maintenance, repair, installation, troubleshooting, and hands-on repairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviews project plans and drawings to ensure compliance with design and local, state, and federal codes.
  • Pulls permits using Michigan Master Electrician license credentials.
  • Installs and maintains low-voltage and high-voltage power wiring, including feeder and branch circuits, conduit, service wire, fuse and breaker panels, switches, outlets, junction and outlet boxes, lighting fixtures, splices, connectors, and ground wiring.
  • Responsible for the electrical infrastructure of Unit facilities, ensuring power to mission-critical facilities is maintained.
  • Develops repair and renovation of electrical projects.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical systems installation and maintenance.
  • Masters Electrician's License, Journeyman's card, and contractor's license.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to read blueprints, written specifications, and wiring diagrams.
  • Advanced knowledge of national and local electrical codes and ordinances.
  • Ability to diagnose trouble in electrical circuits and relate or interconnected air, gas, water, and hydraulic systems and control, etc.
Working Conditions:
  • Standing for entire shift.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to twist, bend, stoop as needed.
  • Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
