About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled PhD graduate in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering to join our multidisciplinary team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge communication systems for the special operations and intelligence communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop advanced communication systems that adapt to unique and dynamic operational environments.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver impactful capabilities for the special operations and intelligence communities.
  • Research and advance new technologies to address evolving threats.
  • Collaborate with sponsors to understand and tackle their toughest problems.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Strong knowledge of digital signal processing, physics, and communication theory.
  • Programming skills in C/C++, C#, or Java, and scripting with MATLAB, Python, or other languages.
  • Ability to work effectively in small, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Classroom or professional work experience with software defined radios and/or operational communication systems.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies and how they interact with other systems.
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret level security clearance.
