Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant Lead to join our team at Northern Arizona Healthcare. As a Medical Assistant Lead, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Medical Assistants in the department, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient patient care.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients, working closely with providers to ensure accurate and timely care.
  • Review patient medical records, complete and document vital signs, and record chief complaints.
  • Assist with referrals, prescription renewals, and patient follow-ups, ensuring seamless communication with providers and patients.
  • Coordinate clerical information to provide patient care, including arranging tests and treatments prescribed by providers.
  • Provide leadership and support to MA staff, including orientation, development, and training opportunities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for MA responsibilities, providing input to evaluations and supporting clinic leadership.
  • Oversee medication samples and supplies, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and policies.
  • Perform routine audits of outdated supplies and equipment, ensuring continuous process improvement.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited Medical Assisting program or college required.
  • OR provide a valid and active Medical Assistant Certification from a recognized organization.
  • One year of Medical Assistant experience required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
Working Conditions

This position is located on-site only.

Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment, and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Colleagues must have an understanding of computers and competence in using basic software programs.
