Position: Fund Finance - Analyst, Senior Analyst, or Associate Director
Fitch Ratings' Funds & Asset Management group is actively seeking an Analyst, Senior Analyst, or Associate Director.
This global team is responsible for analyzing fund ratings, developing methodologies and models, and publishing research on analytical and regulatory developments impacting the asset management sector. The group conducts research on private equity fund finance, securitizations, leveraged closed-end funds (CEFs), money market funds (MMFs), bond funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), local government investment pools (LGIPs), and asset managers.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will support coverage across various sub-sectors of the group.
- Evaluate quantitative and qualitative factors affecting the credit quality of funds and structured transactions, including portfolio assessments.
- Lead on-site due diligence review sessions with fund managers.
- Develop innovative methodologies for rating funds and structures based on market needs.
- Produce research on relevant trends impacting the sectors covered by the group.
- Examine legal documentation for transactions, including indentures and prospectuses.
- Create financial models and maintain databases.
- Present rating recommendations to committees.
- Guide, mentor, and develop team members within the group.
- Engage in industry events and interact with investors, bankers, fund managers, and other market participants.
- 1-3 years of experience in finance, preferably with exposure to funds or structured finance transactions; the position level will depend on the candidate's experience.
- A strong academic background, ideally with a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, statistics, accounting, or computer science.
- Exceptional analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience in fund finance, including subscription facilities or NAV facilities.
- Familiarity with SQL, VBA, or other programming languages.
- A proven track record of initiative and achievement.
