Job Details

Certification Requirements:

  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
  • BLS and ACLS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
  • EPIC EMR experience is preferred.
  • Travelers must pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia Assessment (BCA) exam prior to or during the first week of assignment.
  • Travelers who fail the BCA test will be dismissed.

Job Requirements:

  • Active NM or compact license is required.
  • 2 years of current experience in an 18 plus bed telemetry/progressive care unit is necessary.
  • At least one 13-week travel assignment must have been completed successfully.

Schedule Information:

  • 12 hour Night shift position with a start time of 1900.
  • 3 Weekend shifts in a 4 week scheduling period.
  • Shifts may fluctuate to meet department staffing needs.
  • On call, weekends, and holidays may be required.
  • Travelers are first to float within the facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of the permanent assigned location.

Unit Specific Information:

  • Travelers will be assigned to an 18 plus bed telemetry/progressive care unit.
  • Travelers will float within the facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of the permanent assigned location and to all areas in which they are trained, including the ED and alternate holding areas.
  • Travelers will care for appropriate patients, including PresNow ED/UC (freestanding urgent/emergent care facilities).

Additional Details:

  • No holiday RTO will be approved for travelers.
  • Travelers must not have been an employee of the Presbyterian Healthcare Services system for 12 months from their last day worked, in order to be considered for a travel position.
  • Travelers are first to float within the facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of the permanent assigned location.
  • State tax is passed through to the agency and will be reflected on the invoice. The state tax should be paid to the state of New Mexico.
