The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to join our team as a Birthday Party Staff member. As a key member of our events team, you will be responsible for planning and facilitating birthday parties for children 3 and up at our branch.

Job Description

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children and families in a variety of settings, including the pool, gymnasium, and outdoor pool (seasonal). You must have excellent communication skills, be able to lift 15 lbs, and possess a high work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Party Preparation: Find out ahead of time the age and gender of the birthday child, any activities requested, and be prepared to lead games.
  • Setup and Cleanup: Set up the party room, blow up balloons, hang banners and streamers, and clean up everything after the party.
  • Guest Experience: Cheerfully greet guests as they arrive, take party goers to the activity area, and help with birthday activities such as cake and presents.

This role requires minimal supervision, but thorough training and instruction will be provided. The ideal candidate will be available to work weekends and have the ability to manage their own work efficiently.
