Position Overview:

The Logistics Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and mentoring drivers within the Operating Company (OpCo), ensuring that all deliveries are executed safely, efficiently, and punctually. This role involves monitoring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, maintaining accurate records of driver performance, and facilitating the tracking of essential driver-related information.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and manage team members, including staffing, training, coaching, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
  2. Assist in scheduling to guarantee timely deliveries and pickups.
  3. Participate in field training and evaluation by accompanying drivers.
  4. Support the Transportation/Operations Manager in daily administration tasks, which may include payroll calculations, reviewing trip logs, resolving issues, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  5. Utilize automated fleet management systems for data entry and retrieval.
  6. Monitor driver safety practices, including vehicle safety checks and proper handling techniques.
  7. Coordinate the tracking of driver-related information, such as license status and safety incidents.
  8. Ensure accurate completion of all delivery and driver-related documentation.
  9. Oversee the maintenance of all transportation vehicles through thorough post-trip inspections.
  10. Collaborate with the Transportation or Operations Manager to optimize operational costs and enhance delivery routing efficiency.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

Experience: 2-4 Years in Transportation or a related field, with knowledge of DOT and safety regulations, and experience with computerized fleet management systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Associate's Degree in Business Management, Logistics, or a related field.

Experience: 4-6 Years in Transportation, with supervisory experience and knowledge of DOT regulations within the foodservice sector.
