The Circulating RN plays a crucial role in the surgical team, ensuring the highest standards of patient care within the operating room environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guarantee patient safety throughout the perioperative process.
- Maintain the integrity of the sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Organize and keep the surgical area tidy for the surgical team.
- Facilitate the turnover of surgical rooms, ensuring they are sterile and ready for subsequent procedures.
- Oversee the management of supplies and maintain a clean environment.
- Prepare patients for surgery and manage the necessary preparations for the operating room.
- Evaluate patients' conditions post-surgery and collaborate with physicians to establish effective care plans.
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is mandatory; a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience in an acute operating room setting, including at least one year as a Registered Nurse specializing in Orthopedics, is desirable.
- A valid RN license in the state of practice or equivalent as per state regulations is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or acquisition within 90 days of employment is necessary.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or acquisition within 90 days of employment is required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or acquisition within 90 days of employment is necessary.
