CompensationThe salary for this position ranges from $44,290 to $72,718 annually, depending on experience. This figure includes the estimated base salary for the role.
Job DescriptionClassroom InstructionIn this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students with special needs in assigned core content subject areas. You will create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that caters to diverse student needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Instructing students with special needs in assigned core content subject areas.
- Creating a classroom environment that fosters engagement, inclusivity, and academic growth.
- Developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with grade-level standards and school-wide initiatives.
- Evaluating student progress through formative and summative assessments and maintaining accurate records.
You will play a crucial role in promoting a positive school culture by:
- Communicating a deep commitment to student success and belonging.
- Consistently implementing school-wide management policies.
- Developing and maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Fostering positive relationships with students, families, teachers, staff, and community members.
Effective communication is essential in this role. You will be responsible for:
- Communicating professionally with parents/guardians and the community.
- Regularly updating parents/guardians on student progress.
- Maintaining open communication channels with school leadership and faculty.
As a Special Education Teacher at Athlos Academy, you are expected to:
- Model the school's culture and values.
- Implement school policies and procedures.
- Track student attendance, behavioral issues, and classroom events.
- Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of classroom experience, preferably in a special education setting.
- A valid local/state teaching certificate in the assigned content area.
- A clear FBI background check.
