We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanic to join our team at Rahal Letterman Lanigan. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of our team car, including backup cars.
Key Responsibilities- Safety First: Maintain a Safety First priority on all projects and ensure that work done on cars is complete and safe before it is released to track.
- Procedures and Car Build: Know Dallara and RLL procedures and build the car to specifications on setup and build sheets.
- Office/Shop/Work Area Clean-Up: Perform daily and weekly clean-up of your area at the shop and track.
- Reporting and Supervision: Follow the reporting and supervisory paths as laid out in the department organization chart and support loading & unloading of vehicles and garage/tent area set up and teardown.
- As directed by the Chief Mechanic, complete work to the racecar to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Primary responsibilities will include motor installation, gearbox installation, driveshaft-suspension maintenance, cooling system, fuel system, completion, and security of all ancillary systems on the car.
- Follow RLL procedures to ensure car preparation and appearance meet RLL standards.
- Follow RLL purchasing procedures in securing supplies and parts for racecar preparation.
- Maintain a personal supply of tools as needed for duties required.
- Oversee any work done to car by mechanics or any other team member.
- Advanced race car set up and quality standards.
- Proper knowledge and use of mechanics tools and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of the sanctioning bodies rule book.
- Use of basic metal & machine tools.
You are required to travel to all races, test(s), and other events as the schedule dictates.
