We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Lab Scientist I to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy and quality of results, and providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform testing in an accurate and timely manner, adhering to established policies and performance standards.
- Recognize and respond to abnormal patient and/or QC results, ensuring accuracy and validity of test results.
- Monitor and control inventory, providing financial data for the department and contributing to process improvements in financial performance.
- Participate in department and system projects, training employees, and contributing to quality assurance activities.
- Act as a department resource, providing educational information to internal and external customers, and demonstrating advanced communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology or a related field.
- MLS or categorical certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB) preferred.
- Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and medical terminology.
- Previous experience with phlebotomy and processing.
