About the Role

The RDA Protection Systems - Armour Shop is a state-of-the-art workshop located within the MILVEHCOE facility in Queensland. This team is responsible for the production of various protection elements, including those used for the L400 Phase 2 Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle assembly process. As a Water Jet Operator, you will work within the Armour Shop assisting with the waterjet cutting process, ensuring all aspects of the successful operation of that production capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete planned production work, ensuring all Product Quality, Efficiency, Service, and Maintenance requirements are met.
  • Assist with the operation of the Armour Shop waterjet cutting machinery and associated process inputs and outputs.
  • Create and update cutting machine programmes in accordance with product Engineering specifications and production schedules.
  • Perform nesting with minimum waste.
  • Maintain the cutting process work area in accordance with WHS and 5S requirements.
  • Conduct in-process quality assurance checks, ensuring build quality adheres to required technical standards.
  • Complete quality documentation for the work area.
  • Ensure compliance with RDA's Health, Safety & Environment Policy requirements.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with waterjets or CNC machines.
  • A relevant trade qualification (including Machine Operation, Tool Making, Hydraulic).
  • Experience in CNC programming and nesting.
  • Experience working in a production or assembly environment.
  • The willingness to be trained on cutting equipment and cross-trained on other Armour Shop equipment.
  • Australian Citizenship and eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
