About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chassis Engineer to join our Vehicle Systems Engineering team at Zoox. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating the brakes actuation hardware for our purpose-built vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop 2D & 3D CAD designs for electromechanical components in CATIA V6
  • Evaluate the static, dynamic, structural, and thermal-mechanical performances of mechanical assemblies
  • Lead supplier relationships and manage component designs, timelines, and execution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including firmware, controls, manufacturing, service, and vehicle integration teams
  • Evaluate advanced electromechanical design concepts for future product integration
Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and 6+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience in vehicle engineering, chassis systems design, and component delivery
  • Understanding of hydraulic systems, friction performance, electrical systems, and system architecture
  • Experience in testing and vehicle development
  • Knowledge of Systems engineering, V-model, Validation methods, product reliability, and Systematic problem-solving techniques
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with brakes and steering systems within automotive applications
  • CAN & Network skills
  • Simulink software proficiency and vehicle and hydraulic system modeling
Compensation and Benefits

Zoox offers a comprehensive compensation package, including salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $137,000 to $190,000, and a sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level.

Zoox also offers a range of benefits, including paid time off, unpaid time off, health insurance, long-term care insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, and life insurance.
