Behavioral Health Clinician

Job Summary:

Mental Health Cooperative is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will work closely with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health and well-being.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform face-to-face intake assessments for consumers referred to MHC and determine their appropriateness for care management, medication management, or therapy.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including initial intake and grief assessments.
  • Determine an individual's eligibility for care management, medication management, or therapy and assign them to the appropriate service.
  • Disposition consumers to other mental health services when ineligible for care management.
  • Identify individuals in need of MCRT services and facilitate crisis action if necessary.
  • Assist in resolving grievances from consumers regarding referrals.
  • Fill in for the Admissions Coordinator as indicated by the supervisor.
  • Utilize the Intake Committee for consumers with a history of violence, sexual crimes, or serious criminal activity.
  • Counsel consumers and patients individually and in group sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies and making changes.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
  • Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed to comply with changes in the consumer's status.
  • Learn about new developments in the field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.
  • Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting consumers.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and consumers' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
  • Refer patients, consumers, or family members to community resources or specialists as necessary.
  • Meet with families, clinic providers, care managers, and other interested parties to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, primary care practice partners, and referral sources to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a mental health field.
  • Licensed or license-eligible with LPC/MHSP, LCSW, or LMFT in the state of Tennessee.
  • Valid Tennessee Driver's License.
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Acceptable Criminal Background Investigation.
  • Personal Automobile Insurance.
