Job Summary:

As a Clinical Psychologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to adult and child members. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based practices and psychotherapy research methods. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including crisis intervention and brief individual and group psychotherapy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical treatment programs for members with acute or chronic mental illness, in collaboration with the treating physician and allied health professionals.
  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups, utilizing various therapeutic approaches and techniques.
  • Conduct psychological assessments, including test administration, interpretation, and recommendations, to inform treatment planning.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate, confidential records of member treatment and progress, adhering to state and NCQA regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians in screening and evaluating patients for psychotropic medications, within the scope of practice.
  • Develop and conduct psychoeducational classes and groups to promote member education and empowerment.
  • Provide consultation to other care providers and health educators on matters related to mental health, health psychology, and behavioral medicine.
  • Participate in departmental program development, implementation, and evaluation, contributing to the advancement of mental health services.
Requirements:

  • PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited college or university.
  • Psychologist License (California) within 6 months of hire.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice and psychotherapy research methods.
  • Accuracy in diagnosing patients and developing effective treatment plans.
  • Competence in individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
  • Professional maturity and ethical integrity necessary for assuming professional responsibilities.
  • Commitment to quality of service, teamwork, and participation in a highly interactive multidisciplinary clinic.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous clinical responsibility to include crisis intervention, individual, and group psychotherapy.
  • Demonstrated experience in psychological evaluations of adults, children, adolescents, and families, including administering and writing up psychological testing and assessment batteries.
  • Demonstrated professional maturity and ethical integrity necessary for assuming professional responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality of service, teamwork, and participation in a highly interactive multidisciplinary clinic.
