Location: Not specified
Shift: Day Shift, Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field, or an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with relevant experience.
- Generalist experience is preferred; blood bank experience is not required.
- ASCP or AMT certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with pipetting and ELISA testing (96-well plating) is advantageous.
Role Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Clinical Laboratory Technologist is to perform routine and specialized laboratory tests that aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
- Conduct routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Make informed technical decisions regarding testing and problem resolution.
- Prepare, evaluate, and test new reagents or controls.
- Deliver accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control measures.
- Manage and replenish laboratory supplies as needed.
- Assist with specimen processing when required.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to safety protocols.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Science or compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Prior experience as a Generalist, including in blood bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and COAG is preferred.
- ASCP or AMT certification is desirable.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in computer usage; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
