Job Overview

Shift: Day Shift, Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field, or an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with relevant experience.
  • Generalist experience is preferred; blood bank experience is not required.
  • ASCP or AMT certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with pipetting and ELISA testing (96-well plating) is advantageous.

Role Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Clinical Laboratory Technologist is to perform routine and specialized laboratory tests that aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
  • Conduct routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Make informed technical decisions regarding testing and problem resolution.
  • Prepare, evaluate, and test new reagents or controls.
  • Deliver accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control measures.
  • Manage and replenish laboratory supplies as needed.
  • Assist with specimen processing when required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to safety protocols.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Prior experience as a Generalist, including in blood bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and COAG is preferred.
  • ASCP or AMT certification is desirable.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in computer usage; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
