Job Summary:

This role is based at our Malta, NY Fab 8 site, a state-of-the-art 300mm semiconductor manufacturing facility. As a Maintenance Technician intern, you will work in partnership with production team members and area engineers to monitor, sustain, and improve equipment and processes. Your responsibilities will include monitoring equipment performance, scheduling and performing preventative and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment-related issues. Effective communication of equipment status updates to the Lead Tech and/or Engineer is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance activities on advanced 300mm semiconductor equipment, following detailed procedures and instructions.
  • Work with various hand tools and measurement devices to ensure equipment is functioning optimally.
  • Respond to error messages from factory systems and equipment, taking prompt action to resolve issues.
  • Review Statistical Process Control charts to identify quality issues and take corrective action.
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Recover from process and tool interruptions, minimizing downtime.
  • Complete all required reporting and documentation.
  • Understand and adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes, learning, and skills development.
  • Collaborate with a global team to achieve shared goals.
  • Perform measurements to characterize material properties and process wafers according to defined procedures.
Requirements:
  • Education/Experience: Currently enrolled in a 2-year Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Technology, or a related field, with the first year nearly completed.
  • Strong academic standing.
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Language Fluency: English (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment, adhering to semiconductor protocols.
  • Able to lift equipment and tools, with assistance required for objects over 50lbs.
Shift Schedules:
  • Alternating week schedules, with specific days and times for each week.
