Position Summary:

The Backend Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development of our backend systems. This position requires a forward-thinking approach to create advanced software solutions that support our objectives, including the integration of APIs and collaboration with various external partners. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise to facilitate seamless communication between servers, applications, and databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement high-quality, secure, and efficient code.
  • Develop comprehensive unit tests to ensure code reliability.
  • Conduct regular code reviews to enhance code quality, readability, and performance.
  • Engage in Agile methodologies and assist in project estimation and planning.
  • Participate in secure development practices to mitigate risks.
  • Evaluate and refine existing code to address technical debt and improve functionality.
  • Optimize backend solutions for scalability and performance.
  • Create and manage APIs that facilitate integration across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative software solutions that meet user needs.
  • Support various testing phases, including functional and performance testing.
  • Document technical specifications and maintain clear documentation for all software modules.
  • Mentor junior developers and promote best practices in software development.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in backend development using Java, with knowledge of Python and JavaScript.
  • Experience with no-SQL databases like MongoDB and relational databases such as Postgres.
  • Familiarity with backend frameworks, including Spring Boot.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and debugging techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Work Environment:

  • Regular working hours with occasional after-hours support as needed.
  • Some travel may be required for project-related activities.
