Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Teacher to join our team at Shrine Catholic Grade School. As a Catholic educator, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds and hearts of our students, helping them grow into compassionate and responsible individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that integrate Gospel values into the core curriculum.
  • Apply differentiated instruction and assessment to improve achievement for all learners in a learner-centered and collaborative environment.
  • Work with colleagues to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods of instruction.
  • Implement research-based practices, including differentiated instruction, to enhance student learning.
  • Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process, including iPads and online instructional platforms.
  • Use STAR testing data to target individual learning targets for students.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, spiritual, and emotional development of students.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Code of Conduct, using a positive and proactive management system.
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, principals, colleagues, and community members.
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Requirements:

Candidates must be certified and/or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan. All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach. All teachers who are catechist (teachers of religion) must be certified by the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools.
