Job Summary:

The New York State Office of Mental Health is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist 2 to provide comprehensive and recovery-oriented psychiatric treatment services to individuals with serious mental illness. As a Psychiatrist 2, you will serve as a practicing specialist and may oversee services for a treatment program, a group of clients or residents, a facility, or a unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychiatric treatment services built on principles of effective, measurable, and accountable care.
  • Ensure that all services are integrated to promote mental and physical health and recovery.
  • Prescribe medication and provide other treatments as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families.

Requirements:

  • Must have possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State.
  • Must be certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
  • Must have experience working with individuals with serious mental illness.
