Position Overview:
This role entails providing direct support to leadership within the Network for the implementation of various Department of Defense and Network-level nursing policies, programs, and initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer expert advice to Network leadership and Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) on nursing-related issues, encompassing policy, guidelines, and clinical operations.
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs personnel to assist MTFs in achieving clinical operational goals.
Performance Metrics:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Military Health System (MHS) Resource Allocation metrics in Quality, Safety, and Outcomes categories, aiding the Network Medical Affairs Team and all MTFs in achieving established objectives.
Employment Conditions:
- Appointment may require a suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation.
- Candidates must be eligible for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
Qualifications:
- Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens
- Education: A Bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited nursing or healthcare-related program is required. This degree must be from an institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience is necessary, which includes:
1) Assisting in the standardization of clinical and nursing policies;
2) Monitoring clinical care requirements within a medical facility or network;
3) Advising on regulations affecting patient care;
4) Assessing the impact of financial issues on clinical care.
Licensure:
Applicants must have successfully passed the National Council Licensure Examination and possess a current, unrestricted nursing license from a U.S. state or territory.
Additional Information:
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
- A one-year trial/probationary period may be necessary.
