Job Title: Travel Nurse

Epic Travel Staffing is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) setting. This is a 13-week assignment with a variety of shifts available, including 12-hour night shifts.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced RN to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PCU nursing, with experience in managing telemetry and cardiac rhythms. Additionally, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with a variety of medical conditions, including cerebral infarction, spinal stenosis, sepsis, and traumatic subdural hemorrhage.
  • Manage telemetry and cardiac rhythms, including interpretation of cardiac rhythms and management of dysrhythmias.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, and document patient care in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participate in rapid response team activations and manage patient care in emergency situations.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Oregon.
  • 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in MS/Tele/PCU (PCU and neuro stepdown experience with NIHHS certification preferred).
  • Experience with cardiac drips (nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone, Nicardipine, other IMCU LOC gtts).
  • Must have Tele experience.
  • NIHHS certification preferred.
  • ACLS certification preferred.

Work Environment:

The Neurotrauma Care Unit (NTCU) is a 30-bed unit located on the seventh floor of Building A. The unit serves patients with a wide variety of brain or nervous system disorders, including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, meningitis, encephalitis, strokes, and spinal injuries. The NTCU prides itself on providing outstanding patient care, with staff trained in NIHSS, swallow screen, and spine immobilization.
