Mathematics Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Mathematics Teacher to join our team at Hiawatha Middle School. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging mathematics lessons for 6th-grade students, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve academic excellence.

• Develop and administer mathematics curriculum aligned with school district goals and objectives.
• Design and deliver lesson plans that cater to individual student needs, including students with special requirements.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning and progress, modifying instructional methods as needed.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
• Stay up-to-date with current developments in mathematics education, attending professional meetings and workshops as necessary.
• Organize and maintain accurate records of student activities, achievement, and attendance, adhering to district procedures and applicable laws.
• Encourage parental involvement in students' education and foster effective communication with students and parents.
• Ensure student conduct conforms to school standards and district policies, establishing and maintaining a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
• Collaborate with other professional staff members, participating in faculty meetings and committees as required.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level is preferred.
