As a Cloud Engineering Team Lead at Google, you will play a crucial role in driving the development and deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally. With a strong technical background and leadership expertise, you will manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, overseeing the deployment of complex projects.

Google Cloud accelerates every organization's ability to digitally transform its business and industry. As a team lead, you will contribute to product strategy and help develop your team, managing project goals and ensuring that engineers are able to optimize their code. You will work with cross-functional teams across the company, including information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, data compression, and user interface design.

Responsibilities
  • Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals.
  • Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
  • Develop the mid-term technical vision and roadmap within the scope of your (often multiple) team(s).
  • Evaluate and guide systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
  • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
Requirements

To succeed as a Cloud Engineering Team Lead, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • PREFERRED: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
Compensation

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
